We love to travel. What's not to love? But, travelling with kids in a way that is meaningful and fun and enriching for both parents and children is definitely an art. We have taken two big one week vacations in the past year, and for each of these vacations, I spent countless hours researching and planning. Maybe I'll add up those hours some day, but I think it must be at least 40 hours for our most recent one week vacation! I'm happy to say that it was the best vacation any of us have ever taken! Oops, I said that last June, too. Oh well, like I said, we love to travel.
My goal for this blog is to share our experiences and itineraries with other families interested in similar travel plans. I certainly don't guarantee any of the information, experiences, or itineraries, but I hope that some of the ideas help other moms like me in planning family vacations. And, I hope to make other families vacation planning just a littler easier.
My husband and I feel that travel is a very important part of educating our children. We hope they learn about different people and places and cultures. We hope that it helps encourage intellectual curiosity and spark eager exploration of new places and activities. We hope travel shows our children the amazing gifts and beauty that God bestowed upon the Earth. And, we hope to have as much fun as possible spending time together.
We have always traveled with our kids from infancy through today. This blog will probably be most helpful to families similar to ours but could easily be adapted to other family types. Our daughters are 8 and 11. These are certainly fun ages to really be adventurous although if you are a mother of all boys you may be looking to take it up a notch!
So, sit back, relax, and enjoy this blog! Happy Planning!
